🎉 Answer to the Quiz🎉
The answer is... Ardèche, in the hamlet of Avols (commune of Gravières)! 🏅✨
On July 6, 1889, the newspaper La Nature reported an extraordinary discovery. The largest gold nugget ever found in France was unearthed by a shepherd, Clément Trouillas, who had initially used it as a projectile without knowing it was a nugget! As one of his animals strayed from the herd, he threw a particularly heavy stone at it. A few days later, his brother-in-law Adrien Noël found the shiny stone on the ground and realized it was a magnificent gold nugget.

The nugget measures 94 mm long by 50 mm wide, with a thickness of only 8 mm, and weighs 543 grams! Today, this treasure is in the Mineralogical Museum of Harvard University in the United States and remains the largest gold nugget ever found in France.
