The Little Story: All Saints' Day and the Treasure of Forgotten Saints 🌿💰

Did you know that All Saints' Day, celebrated every November 1st , is also the starting point for some of France's most mysterious treasure legends? For centuries, this festival in honor of all the saints was marked by processions and pilgrimages, and in some regions, legends tell of treasures that were hidden by monks and villagers to protect sacred goods.

One of the most famous stories tells of a treasure supposedly hidden in the abbey of Saint-Michel-de-Cuxa, in the Pyrénées-Orientales. In the Middle Ages, the monks are said to have hidden relics and gold coins in the walls and under the floor of the abbey to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. According to legend, this treasure would only be visible on All Saints' Day, and only to pure souls.
Every year, enthusiasts and dreamers hope that this treasure will reappear, but until today it remains hidden... or forgotten. 💫
